Giving customers new digital solutions

Carrier has launched a suite of digital solutions that improves on-demand customer engagement and remote management of commercial heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, providing customers greater information about their operations. Customers with Carrier SMART Service now have visibility into their system’s performance and energy usage through a new equipment dashboard and mobile application, as well as an online community portal to help them manage service and maintenance activity. This is just one of many ways UTC Climate, Controls & Security is leveraging customer service through the Internet of Things, cloud-based applications and data management.

Exceeding environmental standards

Seaco, one of the world’s leading container leasing companies, monitors new technologies that can meet and exceed future environmental regulations. That is one of the primary reasons it is adding 100 NaturaLINE container refrigeration units to its fleet. The energy-efficient NaturaLINE uses the natural refrigerant carbon dioxide rather than traditional hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants that are being phased out due to their high global warming potential. NaturaLINE is a product of Carrier Transicold.

Hitting a home run for the Atlanta Braves

Thanks to UTC Climate, Controls & Security’s industry-leading brands, fans attending games at the new SunTrust Park in Atlanta are safer, more secure and more comfortable than ever before. Advanced building systems by Carrier, Automated Logic and Edwards are integrated throughout the ballpark, and visitors are moved by Otis elevators and escalators. SunTrust Park is one of the most technologically advanced ballparks in the United States.

Expanding the breadth and scope of customer offerings

UTC Climate, Controls & Security continues to strengthen its position with innovative customer offerings. During the year, it completed the acquisition of EcoEnergy, a leading provider of enabling solutions for energy and operations management through the Internet of Things. EcoEnergy, based in Bengaluru, India, is recognized for its platform, big data analytics, and domain-centric approach and processes. In 2017, EcoEnergy received multiple awards, including the prestigious 2017 Global Building Energy Management Systems Customer Value Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan, a global management consulting firm.

Working with Habitat for Humanity to make families comfortable

During the year, Carrier donated more than 500 ductless home comfort systems to Habitat for Humanity. The systems will be installed in homes across the United States. To celebrate the donation, Carrier teamed up with pro football legend Warrick Dunn in Atlanta, Georgia. Dunn and his foundation, Home for the Holidays, have partnered with Habitat for many years to help single-parent families purchase their first home. Carrier has been involved with Habitat for more than 20 years with thousands of its employees working alongside Habitat volunteers.
